CONCLUSION
Schizophrenia is a disease of the brain. Although several different brain regions and neurotransmitter systems have been implicated as possibly involved in schizophrenia, the most recent science suggests that multiple aspects of brain dysfunction are responsible for the illness. Various technological breakthroughs promise to allow for substantial developments in the next few years that may isolate the specific key to the dysfunction. Although there is no guarantee that the answer will be forthcoming in the next few years, at the rate of current progress significant discoveries could come at any time.
